Hey, thanks, Chris. I'll tell the wife - she sings it.
We've been working on a whole lot of new material, and a lot includes her since people seem to really like her vocal quality.
Beats me when it will come out, though, we got a load of new gear we're working with, and we're slow to produce tracks anyway.

No song goes by that she does not have some input to. Some songs she puts massive effort into. Most songs start with me. Of course she inspires me. Marriage would be futile if not.
Where are I in 2004? Same as now: Ecstatic father of 2 wonderful kids, husband and someone who messes around in 5 bands.
Just because Geosphere has 85000 listens at mp3c does not necessarily mean that I place any importance on it or dreams of musical careers. Its a hobby. The fact that I've had a dozen or so top 10 hits and all sorts of junk and stats is just bonus stuff.
Bands come and go. Family is eternal. Geosphere will probably still exist, as will a few other bands I'm in. But I don't forsee much more for them as I will not take time from my family to push them as required.

My wife and I met in High School drama class, so similar interests were already in place. After 2 weeks, I proposed. She said I was insane. I said it didn't matter, we would get married anyway, whether or not she said yes right there. She was 15, I was 17. It was 1985. We each went to college, dated others, gave up on that and got married in 94.
Geosphere comes from a staunch belief in the power of the world as an entity unto itself. A balance that must be preserved between nature, man, and all that is alive and all that is not. The Geosphere is the lowest level of this balance - the earth itself. Everything on this planet relates directly to the Geosphere, the rock, the flesh of the world. I thought no one paid enough homage to it.
My other bands have names not nearly so symbolic. "Too Hip For The Room", "Sympathetic Vibrations", "John Shirley Band", "Now And Then". Sure, they each have a backstory, but Geosphere is more personal to me. I'm an environmentalist freak.
Do you always ask a bunch of incisive questions when people wander to this board? Its kind of cool. Especially since many of the inhabitants here may not know other people that show up. Or am I just that darned interesting?

Hmm. Greenpeace is good for the environment by being Greenpeace - by calling attention to some needed issues.
On the other hand, some of their members are radicals and idiots, so they make headlines more often with shows of outrageous stupidity than things that matter.
I was heavily involved in an environmental design plan out here at the place my wife works - FalaDM. The plan was shot down, I re-researched it and represented it to involved parties in fluid stages, rather than being one huge investment. Result: FalaDM has the LARGEST APPLICATION OF SOLAR ENERGY IN THE WORLD.
I'm extremely proud of that. It went "live" 2 months ago. You may have read my announcements at the mp3c boards. But don't wait - for one, you never have "enough" money to go around, and for two, you don't need money to create an impact.
I use a rotary "push" mower. Standard gas mowers produce the emissions of 10 cars on the highway - they are not emissino regulated. Its actually easy and faster than a big mower for some reason. Start with something like that. Dont wait. Why work on conservation for 30 years when you can for 31?
Now, out in Hong Kong, you guys have some MAJOR enviro problems. At that point you think "What can 1 person do?" Well, you can become like me and convince 100 other "1 persons" to change, and now you have a force of 100.
A penny won't buy much. But a pocketful will. A bag even more. Start small.

Rotary / reel mower links to start looking.

I think mine is a Great American or Great States model or something. Scotts makes em, as do most lawnmower companies, but they're generally not easy to find in stores. It took a lot of phone calls to find one in stock.
How big is the area to mow and what are you growing? Flowers, Veggies or greenery?

My land is too hard. It is sandy and rocky. In 5 years at this location, I have yet to grow a proper lawn. Instead, I've opted to leave most of my land untended. I have several "spot gardens" of a hundred square feet or so, placed literally where parts of my land were unusable. By my front door is the "Gargoyle Garden" with a dozen or so gargoyles of various sizes, including one that sits on my front steps and looks down into the others, with some exotic black berry bearing grass plant whose name I cannot recall, and some other low lying greens. I have several roses in containers at the front of my lawn, and another garden of rock and wood chips surrounded by slate slabs encasing a tiny (2' wide) marble boulder and a Japanese red maple. Each year I create a new spot garden.
My BIG problem - rabbits. Cant grow any thing they can eat, or they will. So I'm fairly limited. All vegies are off the list, as are many wildflowers.
